Any publication containing:
- news
- intelligence
- reports of occurences
or any remarks, observations or comments pertaining to such news, intelligence, reports of occurrences, or to any matter of public interest, printed in any language and published for sale or free distribution at regular intervals or otherwise, falls under the jurisdiction of the Newspaper and Printing Presses Act, with any publication by or for the Government excepted.

- Printing or publishing a newspaper in Singapore
- Publishing or selling or distributing a Malaysian newspaper in Singapore
- Selling or distributing an offshore newspaper in Singapore

Printing Press Licence
Printing of documents, such as those listed below, requires a licence permitting the maintenance and use of a printing press under the Newspaper and Printing Presses Act.
- pamphlets
- maps
- charts
- newspapers
- magazines
with the printing of invoices, name cards, bill heads, letterheads or collaterals for a company’s own image except.
Who can apply?
- Only the director, partner or sole proprietor of the company operating the printing press can apply for a licence.
Fees?
- No fees are payable for a Printing Press Licence

Outdoor Advertising
Singapore’s Building and Contruction Authority (BCA) regulates outdoor sign and signboard advertising displays, to prevent haphazard, unsightly and inappropriate outdoor signage from being publically displayed and seen.
Who needs to apply?
- “Outdoors” refers to any roofed space that
- is not fully enclosed on all sides
- facilitates the flow of general pedestrian traffic
- is accessible to the public.
- One will need to apply for such a licence if an advertising sign or signboard is to be installed in a location befitting the above-mentioned definition of “outdoors”

General Radio-communication Licence
General Radio-communication Station Licence (Broadcast Station)
To transmit, receive or transmit and receive signals for broadcasting by means of radio-communication, a General Radio-communication Station Licence is required. Applicants must first seek the approval from the Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) for the use of all radio equipment, and licensees are bound by IMDA terms and conditions.

- Broadcasters who wish to provide broadcasting services in Singapore.

- Licence fee: $100 per annum per station
- Frequency fee: Depending on the bandwidth of the frequencies
- Processing fee: Depending on the bandwidth of the frequencies

General Radio-communication Station Licence (Terrestrial Microwave)
To establish communication links between two fixed points, a General Radio-communication Station Licence (Terrestrial Microwave Station) is required.
Fees?
- Licence fee: $100 per annum per station
- Frequency fee: Depending on the bandwidth of the frequencies
- Application & processing fee: $300

Localised Private Network Licence
To establish and provide Localised Private Network services (such as use of walkie talkie services within a localised area), a Localised Private Network Licence is required.
Licence criteria:
- Minimum of 5 portables for one frequency on share-used basis; output power limited to 0.5 watts erp
- Minimum of 30 portables for one frequency; output power limited to 4-5 watts erp
Fees?
- Licence fee: $100 per annum per network (portable or mobile station) or $100 per annum per base or repeater station
- Frequency Fee: Depending on the bandwidth of the frequencies
- Application & Processing Fee: $300

Localised Radio Communication Station Licence
A Localised Radio-communication Station Licence may be granted to users to operate the following equipment:
- Remote control devices
- Local area paging devices
- Transceivers (CB walkie talkies);
- Telemetry or alarm systems or both;
- Wireless data or voice systems (e.g wireless LAN);and
- Any other radio-communication equipment as may be authorised by the Authority.
